WHY PUBLISHING SUPPORT MATTERS

A Complete Manuscript Still Needs a Production Plan.

Self-publishing gives authors more control, but it also means more decisions. Editing, trim size, interior layout, cover specifications, metadata, digital conversion and retailer setup all depend on one another. A coordinated workflow helps prevent expensive rework.

01

Make decisions in the right order.

Final editing affects page count. Page count affects spine width. Format choices affect layout and cover specifications. We organize those dependencies before production moves too far.

02

Prepare the book for the format.

Paperback, hardcover and ebook files are not interchangeable. Each route needs the right production assets, specifications and quality checks.

03

Keep the author in control.

We help make the publishing process easier to understand while the author remains involved in the choices that shape the finished book.

WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH

Everything Needed to Move a Book Toward Release.

The exact scope depends on your manuscript and selected publishing route. These are the areas that most often need to come together before launch.

01

Manuscript Readiness

Review the manuscript’s current condition and identify whether editing or proofreading should happen before production.

02

Interior Formatting

Create a clean, readable interior layout around the chosen trim size and print format.

03

Cover Production

Coordinate front cover, spine and back cover around the final production specifications.

04

ISBN Guidance

Explain where an ISBN may be relevant and help organize the information required for the selected publishing path.

05

Print-on-Demand Setup

Prepare the book around a print-on-demand workflow so copies can be produced as orders are placed.

06

Ebook Conversion

Prepare a digital edition designed for ebook reading environments and selected digital channels.

07

Metadata & Listing

Organize title, subtitle, description, author details, categories and other information used during setup.

08

Distribution Support

Help prepare for the retailer or distribution routes included in the author’s publishing plan.

ISBN ACQUISITION & IMPRINT GUIDANCE

Give Every Edition the Right Publishing Identity.

An ISBN is the identifier used by booksellers, libraries, publishers and retailers to distinguish a specific book edition. We help authors understand the available ISBN routes, organize the required title and imprint information, and avoid mismatches before platform setup begins.

01

Platform-Provided ISBN

For eligible paperback and hardcover projects, Amazon KDP can provide a free ISBN. That option is designed for KDP publication and is registered under the platform’s independent-publishing imprint structure.

02

Your Own ISBN

Authors who want broader control over imprint information or plan to use the same print edition across multiple publishing services may prefer to obtain their own ISBN from the official ISBN agency for their country. In the U.S., that agency is Bowker.

03

Format Matters

Print formats use ISBNs differently from ebooks. Kindle ebooks do not require an ISBN on KDP, while paperback and hardcover editions require their own identifier. We help map the identifier choice to the formats in your publishing plan.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT FORMAT

Print, Digital, or Both.

Your publishing plan should reflect how readers are expected to discover and experience the book, not force every project into the same format package.
